As a wife and a mother of two young girls I want to do all I can for my family.  There are many ways in which we can impact on our health and wellbeing.  I believe that the food we eat is one of the primary ways.

Our family started our food journey a few years ago when we removed gluten from our diet owing to a history of celiac disease in the family and because both girls had health issues that we thought might benefit from the change.  It was also around this time that we were introduced to Crossfit and began having more conversations about food, specifically ideas around Paleolithic nutrition.

I began to take more control of our meals by buying unprocessed ingredients and preparing food in line with the Paleo theory.  We noticed some significant changes in ourselves and more importantly our girls.  Where once the girls were regulars with pediatricians and dietitians, we noticed their recurring health complaints lesson and in some cases disappear completely.

It has taken time to find out where to get good food supplies, how to eat out at restaurants and what ingredients I can substitute in standard recipes.  The idea of this blog is to show people how I take conventional recipes and tweak them to be Paleo.  I have been asked many times about the way we eat and how we manage it and I want to share these learnings with you.

I believe life is one big experiment.  We try things.  Some work and some don’t.  At the moment this if working for us.  Give it a go, and if it works for you, that’s awesome.
